Tākaka Cohousing is a fully occupied cohousing neighbourhood surrounded by parkland.
The neighbourhood is a 34-home development that was completed in 2023. The community is now in full swing with weekly community meals, monthly member meetings and other events being held in the Common House, such as celebrations, film nights and evenings around the fire.There are around 54 adults and 15 children living in the community. All residents of the neighbourhood, whether they are home owners or renters, are members.

This development was built using a Unit Title model. Each home is private with its own bathroom and kitchen.
Each homeowner owns a share in the Body Corporate and Body Corp Levies are paid to maintain the common land.
